The Ginza Group has announced the opening of Simply Italian in Club Vista Mare on Palm Jumeirah, Dubai.
Sardinian head chef, Mauro Altea, has incorporated recipes from his grandmother into the menu.
He said: “The inspiration behind our menu came from watching my nonna in the kitchen as a child.
“It is through her teachings that I perfected the gnocchetti Sardi al ragu di agnello e pecorino (gnocchi with braised lamb).”
The venue’s menu features dishes from various regions of Italy, including signature dish spigola al cartoccio (sea bass baked in foil).
Chef Altea explained: “This [technique] results in a moist, succulent fish that we hope will offer Dubai residents a fresh perspective on preparing seafood alongside a truly genuine Italian dining experience.”
Pizza is made using freshly kneaded ambrosial dough and is baked in a wood-fired oven.
The venue is one of seven new eateries to open at Club Vista Mare and features an outdoor seating area overlooking a private beach, which allows restaurant-goers free access to the waterfront upon presenting their bill.
