Hotel News Middle East has opened nominations for this year’s Leaders In Hospitality Awards, celebrating excellence and innovation in the region’s hotel industry.

Set to take place at The St Regis Dubai on Wednesday 17 May, the Leaders in Hospitality Awards will celebrate 16 categories, divided into seven hotel awards and nine individual awards.
The awards will be presented on the night by event sponsors Du.

HOTEL CATEGORIES:
Leading New Hotel
A hotel that has brought an exciting new concept and energy to the Middle Eastern market. This hotel will combine creativity, originality and an excellent service and can demonstrate exceptional performance. It must be opened on 1 January, 2016, or later.
Leading Serviced Apartments
This award will go to the serviced apartment that has shown it can deliver guest service that is second to none. The winner will have demonstrated innovation in customer service, amenities and products.
Leading Luxury Hotel
The winner of this category will have demonstrated outstanding attention to detail and customer service. This award is for a hotel that has raised the benchmark for luxury in the region. Customer service will be high on the agenda and the winner will provide guests with an experience that caters for discerning luxury travellers.
Leading Mid-Market Hotel
The winner will show the ability to provide high standard facilities at an accessible cost. The award will go to a hotel that shows it can more than match the requirements of millennials looking for alternatives to high-end options without reducing the quality of service.
Leading Hotel F&B Outlet
This award will go to an outlet that enhances the guest experience by providing an original concept and a high-quality food and beverage offering. With an emphasis on being original and creative the winner will show an ability to compete with the best standalone restaurants on the market.
Leading Hotel Spa
The winner will provide a range of treatments, facilities and amenities and put a strong emphasis on an outstanding guest experience. The leading hotel spa will demonstrate a dedication to health and wellbeing of both men and women.
Sustainable Hotel Award
This award will go to a hotel that demonstrates an excellence in sustainable practices in terms of energy efficiency, waste management and social responsibility.
PEOPLE CATEGORIES:
Leading General Manager
This award will go to an individual who has shown outstanding leadership and inspiration to others. The winner will demonstrate a strong passion and is prepared to go the distance to deliver excellence and will show they are not afraid to make hard decisions for the benefit of the hotel.
Leading Hotel Team
The winning team in this category will have displayed operational excellence with outstanding efficiency, productivity and quality. They will have demonstrated a seamless communication process that facilitates outstanding customer service across the property.
Leading Executive Housekeeper
This award will be received by the Executive Housekeeper who shows an excellence in ensuring rooms are always maintained to the highest standards. They will also demonstrate superb communication and leadership skills to ensure their teams also share their commitment to excellence.
Leading Procurement Manager
The winner in this category will have demonstrated the ability to oversee a procurement programme that delivers excellence and value for money across the board. The recipient of this award will have provided tangible results in terms of purchasing goods that have boosted their company’s strategy both in the long and short terms.
Leading IT Manager
This category will be won by the nominee who shows they have kept their company at the forefront of technology through their decision making. The winner will also have demonstrated the ability to show superb communication skills and offer hardware and software support at all times.
Leading F&B Manager
This award highlights the achievements of an individual who has showcased outstanding ability in exceeding KPIs, developing and enhancing hotel restaurant concepts, streamlining processes and team leadership.
Leading Hotel Chef
Open to executive chefs, this category demonstrates outstanding creativity, passion and culinary flair along with exceptional skills in overseeing an entire kitchen operation in an efficient, cost-effective manner.
Rising Star Award
An individual aged 30, or under on the day of the awards, who is making waves in the Middle East’s hotel scene. This person demonstrates tenacity, creativity and the potential to make a significant impact on the region’s hospitality landscape.
Lifetime Achievement Award
This award will go to a candidate who has dedicated their life to the pursuit of excellence across the hotel industry. Their achievements will have made the industry a better place for, not only those who have worked with them, but for the entire sector.
