An administrative decision authorising hotels to build restaurants on their rooftops has been issued by Dubai Municipality director-general, Hussain Nasser Lootah.
Hotels can request permission for the construction of restaurants on rooftops according to specific planning requirements.
The construction should not exceed 50% of the roof floor area, the maximum building area should not exceed 1,000m2, and the lateral slope of the building on the rooftop should not be less than 1.5 metres on all sides of the building.
The move is in accordance with Decision No. 66 of 2007 regarding controls on some planning and structural modifications.
