Australian brand, The Coffee Club, which has several outlets in the UAE, has announced that it will only service UTZ certified coffee.
UTZ Certified stands for sustainable farming and better opportunities for farmers, their families and the planet by training them to use more sustainable methods.
Through the UTZ programme farmers grow better crops and generate more income, while safeguarding the environment and securing the earth’s natural resources.
Ravi Chandran, CEO Liwa Minor Food and Beverages LLC, said: “These are the little things we can do to make a bigger difference in the world. When a customer enjoys coffee at The Coffee Club, he or she is helping a farmer somewhere in the world, contributing to a farmer’s better life.
“A sustainable product is not only environmental friendly but tastes better as well as it has been farmed with better methods and in better working conditions. At The Coffee Club we believe in serving the best quality products, being environmentally friendly and contributing to the greater good.”
The Coffee Club launched in Brisbane, Australia, in 1989, and has more than 450 cafés throughout nine countries.
The brand is owned by Minor DKL Food Group, an Australian retail food brand franchisor with a combined 410 restaurants in 11 countries.
There are Coffee Club branches at Yas Mall, Marina Mall, Al Forsan Village, Marsa Al Bateen, Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque and Liwa Executive Suites in Abu Dhabi and at the Wasl Vita Mall, Golden Mile Mall, Times Square Mall, Riverland at Dubai Parks and Resorts, and Dubai Airport Free Zone Authority in Dubai.
