French restaurant, Le Classique, at Dubai’s Emirates Golf Club is set to close at the end of the month after 29 years of operations.
A new concept is to replace the restaurant, with more information to follow soon.
The restaurant is marking the occasion with a special ‘Au Revoir’ set menu, which takes diners on a journey spanning Le Classique’s past three decades in the emirate.
The five-course ‘Au Revoir’ menu features foie gras poêlé, pineapple chutney and crispy quail; Chef François’ French onion soup, lobster thermidor and a café gourmand featuring crepe suzette, peach melba and speciality coffees.
Dedicated to Chef François Porte, who opened Le Classique in the late 80s and served until his retirement in 2012, four dishes on the menu are ‘François style’ – re-creations of classic dishes he created during his career.
The ‘Au Revoir’ menu will be available from Wednesday 5 July until the end of the month, and is priced at AED275 per person or AED405 per person including selected grape and house beverages.
