The founder of Italian eatery Carluccio’s has passed away. It was confirmed that the Italian chef Antonio Carluccio passed away at the age of 80 on Wednesday.
The sad news came as the group is set to open its first licensed restaurant in Dubai in the coming weeks at Jumeirah Creekside Hotel. This restaurant will be the brand’s eighth venue in Dubai.
Located on the ground level within the Jumeirah Creekside Hotel, the restaurant will be fully licensed making it the group’s first licensed venue outside of the airport in the emirate.
It’ll boast an outdoor terrace, seat 210 diners and be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner with future plans to introduce a laid back, Italian grazing brunch and a Thursday ladies’ night. The new look bar will also boast its very own menu with tasting plates, designed to share.
“The opening of our first licensed venue in Dubai itself is something we’re excited to shout about. It’s been eight years since we first launched Carluccio’s in Dubai and this venue is a welcomed edition to the cities dining scene.” said Duncan Muir, general manager.
“We’re very excited to show our brand new look design and layout of the restaurant and bar and we’re delighted with the vision that we have been able to turn into reality with the team at Harrison’s Design.”
Carluccio’s Jumeirah Creekside is due to open before the festive season.
