The Ascott Limited has appointed Sophia Berriane as director of marketing for the Middle East, Africa and Turkey.
Berriane brings over ten years of experience in marketing, communications and brand development across luxury hotel, hospitality and multinational Fortune 500 brands in the UAE and Africa.

In 2014, Berriane joined Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi as part of the marketing team, and was tasked with revitalising the property’s 14 F&B and leisure brands. Most recently, she held the role of marketing director at a Dubai-based consultancy, working across a portfolio of brands including Jumeirah, Emaar, Burj Al Arab and Kempinski.
According to Ascott, Berriane’s scope will include Ascott’s 12 operational properties, spanning 11 cities and seven countries including the KSA, the UAE, Turkey, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar and Ghana. An additional 13 properties (1,877 keys) are currently under development across the region.
