The promise of a contemporary restaurant and lounge offering Levantine fusion cuisine with live oriental entertainment isn’t unheard of in the region, specifically in Dubai, but what Antika Bar offers is an experience that’s fully deserving of the weeks of anticipation that preceded its opening – guests having been already familiarised with the concept through the former multi-venue Antika Night.
Antika Bar has now opened its doors in Dubai’s International Financial Centre. Located in Al Fattan Currency House, the nostalgic restaurant and lounge takes inspiration from the plush theatre-houses of 1950s Lebanon.
With a menu that combines flavours from across the Middle East, fused with cosmopolitan and contemporary ingredients tailored to suit Dubai’s refined palate, the bar’s Chef Alaa from Lebanon’s Baalbek region knows how to kick things up a notch.
Dishes include traditional mezzeh such as infused hummus with lemon peels, creamy keshek with black truffle and beetroot feta foam, alongside fresh salads including a crunchy fattoush with roasted truffle beetroot.
Following the small plates, guests can enjoy the main courses, which include sayadieh risotto, braised lamb shanks with freekeh and caramelised onions, beef sliders with tahini and pomegranate molasses and grilled chicken taouk with a creamy wasabi sauce.
If you’re not a fan of the traditional, Antika also offers its own take on octopus, served with a rich dip that enhances the flavour. Ending each meal on a sweet note, the bar serves a blend of popular Arabic desserts including ashta ice cream and a delectable kanafeh.
Each week, Antika Bar presents a full schedule of events and high-octane entertainment, inspired by the rich culture and heritage of the region. Featuring live singers, whirling dervish dancers and ‘dabke’ shows, each night has a different theme to ensure a unique and exciting experience.
Wednesday nights are dedicated to ladies, with a generous offering of three complimentary drinks and a 30% discount across the menu for all women. Saturdays are for throwback moments, with a roster of classic Arabic pop hits accompanied by upbeat live performances.
Open daily from 5pm until late, Antika Bar is the sophisticated evolution of Lebanon’s well-known nightlife venue. Renowned for its extravagant oriental parties and exuberant celebrations, Antika Bar Dubai is also set to open a terrace for guests to enjoy lunch, dinner and shisha al fresco late September, as well as adding two weekly brunches scheduled for Fridays and Saturdays.
There’s a day of the week for every party at Antika, and you’ll want to see what each and every one has to offer, but you can be sure that it will be an oriental experience that’s beyond what you’re accustomed to – filled with magnificent twists on everything Levantine, along with fantastic food and exceptional, swift service.
