As part of its corporate social responsibility programme, Ramada by Wyndham Downtown Dubai has announced its partnership with Rashid Centre for People of Determination.
The hotel will provide internship opportunities to select students from the centre, and train them in different departments including front office, food & beverage, and housekeeping. The tasks will be based on skills, and be supervised and evaluated by the representatives from the centre.
The team from Ramada Downtown Dubai also committed to spend hours as volunteers at the centre, and host the organisation for special events at the hotel. Once a month, the property will also offer a complimentary staycation for the students or teachers.
Five paintings created by the students are on display at the hotel’s lobby and at Kenza, its all-day dining restaurant, to showcase the talents of people of determination.
“We’re delighted to team up with Rashid Centre for People of Determination, and to pave the way for their students, especially the young adults, to make a mark for themselves. It is indeed inspiring to see them realise their potentials,” says Mark Fernando, general manager at Ramada by Wyndham Downtown Dubai.
“Our group, R Hotels, has always been active in different CSR initiatives over the years. This time, we chose an organisation that we know will benefit families in the UAE. We hope that through our simple act of reaching out and providing them with an outlet to express showcase their capabilities, we can leave a significant impact on them and their families’ lives, and the society we’re in,” he adds.
Mariam Othman, director general of Rashid Centre for People of Determination, highlights: “On behalf of the centre, the students and teachers, I would like to express our gratitude to Ramada Downtown Dubai for lending a hand. We always welcome cooperation with the private sector, as they have been instrumental in the success of the centre over the years. We look forward to working with them in transforming the lives of the People of Determination.”
