As part of its efforts to champion CSR and boost its social impact, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry has recently organised a volunteering event, which saw its employees prepare and distribute 400 food packs to sailors working at Dubai Creek.
On November 18 and 19, Dubai Chamber employees volunteered their time and took part in the activity, which was organised for the eleventh consecutive year.
The latest effort follows other CSR initiatives led by the Chamber this year, including its donation of AED 10 million to the Community Solidarity Fund Against Covid-19, corporate volunteering activities held during Given and Gain Week 2020 and a special event to honour contractors and essential workers.
Dr Belaid Rettab, Senior Director, Economic Research and Sustainable Business Development Sector, Dubai Chamber, highlighted that Dubai Chamber is committed to fostering a culture of volunteering and humanitarianism within the business community and wider society.
He thanked Dubai Customs for its valuable support and contribution towards the volunteering effort and noted that such humanitarian activities set a positive example for companies, stressing the importance of encouraging employees to give back to their communities, especially during challenging times.
