Acclaimed Dubai-based chef Reif Othman has launched a competition to win flights and a hotel stay in Egypt for the July opening of Reif Japanese Kushiyaki Cairo.
The prize for one person and a friend includes economy class return flights Dubai-Cairo-Dubai, two nights at a five-star hotel, and dinner at the official opening of the first franchised Reif Japanese Kushiyaki in Cairo’s financial district hosted by Reif Othman and owner Ayman Baky of Baky Hospitality on July 16.
Entry is simple – any guest dining at Reif Japanese Kushiyaki in Dar Wasl over the four-week promotional period (May 19 to June 16) is entered into the prize draw with the bill receipt. Multiple visits allow multiple entries. Reif will pick a winner from the claypot on Instagram Live @reifkushiyaki on the June 17.
“Often here in Dubai restaurant competitions are run on Instagram with no real long term value other than an increased online following for a short period. We wanted to change that by rewarding our most loyal customers instead. By designing the mechanics to encourage dining in our flagship restaurant, we are shining the light on both this venue and with the prize, our first franchised operation, in Cairo,” says Reif Othman, chef-owner of Reif Japanese Kushiyaki.
Meanwhile, a new classic Japanese set lunch, Teishoku Trays, is introduced at the Dar Wasl branch for dine-in on weekdays from Sunday to Thursday, 12-2pm. Priced at AED 85, a four-course menu served on a tray offers miso soup; salad; a choice of donburi bowls with stir-fried Angus beef, assorted raw fish or vegetable Japanese curry; and dessert.
The four-seater omakase tasting menu concept, The Experience by Reif Othman continues at Dar Wasl with a different culinary theme. For May, the dishes are inspired by the Japanese holiday tradition of Golden Week.
Two omakase tasting menus are available – eight dishes for AED 350, and 12 dishes for AED 550 (food only). These can be booked seven days a week for lunch or dinner for a minimum of two people and a maximum of four.
