Innovatively fusing timeless French dining with the playful flavours of Japan, NETTE will introduce a refreshing experience for Dubai residents and visitors to discover. Set within MATCHA Club, Al Quoz’s newest boutique padel club, the French-Japanese restaurant is the brainchild of the team behind Cassette and aims to bring laid-back yet memorable dining to Dubai’s coolest neighbourhood.
Having opened its door on 9th December for drinks, NETTE will start serving food on 1st January, offering a thoughtful menu that celebrates the best of both French and Japanese cuisine, perfect for diners who are looking for dishes to excite the palate and the senses. Designed by Chef Shaunne and created with sharing in mind, flavours such as miso, taragosia, mirin and tamari are showcased throughout, complete with a selection of refreshing, healthy beverages.
From a quick lunch after a mid-morning yoga class or well-earned dinner following a game of padel, to a family breakfast at the weekend or a fresh juice whilst answering some emails, NETTE’s dishes are as delicious as they are nourishing. Breakfast offers both sweet and savoury options ranging from the Honey Matcha Bowl to the Egg Sando Sandwich. There will be a range of nutritious and delicious salads plus unique sandwiches including the Miso Braised Beef French Dip Sandwich and the Avocado and Seaweed Salad Sandwich. Desserts come in the form of Vegan Matcha & Chocolate Eclairs, Japanese souffle Crème Brûlée Buttermilk Pancakes and French toast served with matcha mascarpone, yuzu curd, yuzu macerated seasonal berries & toasted pecan. Coffee will be served from Three Roasters Coffee, a roastery located a stone’s throw away from the restaurant, providing the freshest cup of coffee you’ll have in Dubai.
NETTE’s alluring yet welcoming design is the work of Al Quoz locals and young progressive design firm, H2R design. Mingling with MATCHA’s distinct geometric style with artistic furniture, and lush landscaping, NETTE has been tailored to mesh with the padel club’s aesthetic while also telling its own personality and story. Inspired by padel tennis, the geometric design is influenced by the net, the court and the game itself. Mixed with hues of terracotta, shades of green and natural tones (greys and beige), habitual materials have been used as much as possible to contrast the industrial feel of the surrounding area.
The H2R team, who also created NETTE’s identity, name and design ethos, have paid close attention to concocting a warm community and culturally- a relevant destination for everyone, ensuring that NETTE is blended seamlessly within the context of MATCHA. The design team have also included acoustic panels in the ceiling of the restaurant to provide perfect sound throughout the space. Oozing tranquility, guests can expect a casual, comfy and cosy social environment, peppered with greenery and the odd lemon tree. Making a statement inside the restaurant sits the open coffee bar, flanked by floor to ceiling glass windows on either side. Outside is a beautiful, shaded courtyard with a statement Mango tree in the middle, seating up to 43 guests.
The launch of NETTE will shake up Al Quoz’s dining scene on both culinary and design fronts, offering a bright example of the neighbourhood’s blossoming identity. Reflecting on NETTE’s opening, Haider Madani, Restaurant Owner and Founder of NETTE and Cassette said: “Following the success of building a loyal and engaged community with Cassette, we’ve been itching to get stuck into a project that showcases our ability to continue to innovate further and further. From both a design and dining perspective, NETTE will be a place for people to connect, unwind and enjoy really great food and service. Being set within MATCHA Club is the perfect brand alignment for us and we can’t wait for Dubai to discover this cool corner of the city.”
NETTE will become a go-to stop for unique dining, great service and a welcoming atmosphere in the city’s hippest neighbourhood.
