Figjam were appointed by MAZ Investment to develop a new brand in March 2015, Thanani, and now with the lease signed at Al Zorah second stage work has begun on restaurant creation.
Styled as a rooftop lounge Thanani presents a high end dining experience, a contemporary café/bar serving modern Arabic small dishes, or tapas, paired with non-alcoholic beverages.
Thanani will be located on the top floor of the Al Zorah Pavilion in Ajman. During the construction phase Figjam will have project managers on-site throughout and work closely with contractors. At the same time Figjam’s product development team will move into the test kitchen to begin creation of the menu.
Drawing heavily from seasonal inspiration and ingredients, Thanani’s menu will use only the best quality produce in both the food and beverage menus, sourced locally wherever possible. Dishes will be planned to combine and complement flavours shaped from traditional Arabic tastes and aromas. The halal certified non-alcoholic beverages include an extensive wine list and specialty crafted mocktails.
In keeping with the high end menu the brand design for Thanani is clean, simple and stylish. Straight lines, gentle colours and modern patterns integrate with the outdoor landscape, benefitting from its top floor vantage point Thanani will overlook the mangrove forest and lagoons.
The interiors are light and open, and colours and furniture characterise natural elements and feature windows emphasise the surrounding wildlife and vegetation.
Sanjay Murthy, managing director, Figjam, said: “I am very proud of our work on this project, we have brought a concept that is usually reserved for licenced restaurants and created something everyone can enjoy.
“I see Thanani becoming very popular with Emirati And Arabic customers who are looking for traditional flavours but a finer dining experience as well as western young adults wanting to try something new.”
Thanani will comprise indoor and outdoor seating options capable of hosting more than 200 guests in a space of 10,575 square meters. Opening is expected March 2016.
