World famous Champagne House Veuve Clicquot celebrates its 250th anniversary, in addition to relaunching The Icons. This is being highlighted through an extraordinary exhibition of artefacts that tell the story of Veuve Clicquot at Downtown Design. The historic Maison and its distinctive yellow label is destined to be the most talked-about brand at the design fair held from November 9 to 12.
The Solaire Lounge by Veuve Clicquot at Dubai’s popular design fair in Dubai Design District (d3) is the setting for the launch of The Icons, an exclusive exhibition showcasing four of the House’s most emblematic items that symbolise the creativity and innovative spirit of the famous Champagne House and its founder Madame Clicquot. Meet the Icons: The Clicquot Arrow, the signature Ice Jacket, the Veuve Clicquot Ice Box and the mini Clicquot Fridge in collaboration with Smeg. All consumers’ favourites that have been redesigned with mono and recyclable materials, zero virgin plastic and lower greenhouse emissions than previous iterations, 100% iconic and built to last. The collection explores not only the rich design heritage of the brand that began in 1772, but also demonstrates its love for beautiful and functional objects and its vision for the future.
Sophisticated Dubai bistro The Lighthouse has curated a delicious pairing menu with pops of yellow for guests to enjoy with Veuve Clicquot’s Yellow Label and Rosé Champagnes. Culinary highlights include the iconic burger, pancakes, as well as yellowtail tartare and a cheesecake made with passion fruit and yuzu.
Delfina Design, in collaboration with Veuve Clicquot, brings you Be Amazed, a 90sqm maze featured at Downtown Design. It is constructed with dreamy, iridescent glass that changes colour with ambient light to create rainbows, visually representing the joyful moments that are created by Veuve Clicquot. The structure of the glass maze acts as a physical metaphor for the idea that we need to be conscious of the small details in life, because these are the moments that can create joy and amazement. Be Amazed is the work of interiors expert Delfina Cortese from Delfina Design. “I was inspired by the idea of bubbles that live momentarily, creating these tiny moments of joy, their ephemerality and iridescence,” she explains.
The illuminating exhibition in Dubai Design District (d3). is open to the public on Thursday November 10 and Friday November 11 from 12pm to 8pm, and on Saturday November 12 from 12pm to 6pm. A press preview takes place on Wednesday November 9 from 12pm to 2pm, followed by a trade and VIP show from 2pm to 6pm. To see the exhibition and art installation, guests must register for complimentary tickets by visiting downtowndesign.com.
