ONZE brings its daring and highly-anticipated new menu to one of Dubai’s most iconic locations at Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club.
Nestled next to The Park Hyatt Dubai, ONZE is a visual treat that has a beautiful art installation of flying birds hanging from the restaurant’s striking 30 metre high ceiling. Lush green interiors and a bold colour palette that represents the vibrant cultures of Japan and Peru create a warm and inviting atmosphere for guests.
Managed and operated by two women, ONZE raises the bar for culinary creativity in Dubai. General manager Ghada Ajib is joined by the acclaimed Peruvian head chef Marissa Josefinna Vallve, who has previously worked in Lima, Doha, Hong Kong and Dubai at Asado and The Act.
“I’m so excited to design a menu that mixes flavours from Peru and Japan,” said Marissa. “The dishes I have created are inspired by my travels and contain amazing ingredients such as salt from the mountains of Peru. When guests come and eat with us at ONZE I hope they will be transported to other times of their life through my dishes.”
Blending the cultures and cuisines of Japan and Peru has resulted in a dazzling menu that contains highlights such as salmon taquitos, tuna tataki, ceviche, and corn robata. Marissa is particularly proud of the lobster tempura made with sparkling water for a lighter batter. She also picks out the vegetarian version of the miso black cod, which is made with cauliflower that is marinated for three days. The standout dessert is the tres leches made with milk from Hokkaido and sugar from Okinawa in Japan. This delicate milk cake is topped with a meringue hand-painted with gold that diners are invited to break with a small hammer.
As well as superb cuisine, ONZE provides a memorable party experience from sunset until late after dark with a string of exuberant DJs in residence and a stellar line-up of guest DJs throughout the season. A curated soundtrack of Afro house, melodic chillout and disco increases the blissed-out sunset vibes at ONZE. Mesmerising dance shows and other entertainment acts will add even more energy to the atmosphere of the restaurant.
Moving from the interior to the exterior, ONZE offers one of the most impressive terraces in Dubai. Stretching across 700 metres, the show-stopping patio brings diners extraordinary views of the Creek and the twinkling lights of Dubai’s distinctive skyline. Also in view are the pristine greens and fairways of the championship golf course that transport guests out of the city and into a more tranquil headspace.
ONZE – the French word for 11 – carries a special meaning in Japanese culture. When the two digits are added together, they make two, which the Japanese people believe represents success and a fiery spirit.
