On December 10th, Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates held their annual Stollen Charity Cake Sale to spread smiles at Mall of the Emirates while contributing towards a good cause. The 900m Stollen cake was proudly presented at the heart of the mall, the Central Galleria.
Mall visitors were able to purchase the delicious loaves, priced at 100AED, wherein all the proceeds will be going towards Emirates Red Crescent charity.
The team of expert bakers was led by Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates’s recently appointed Executive Chef, Geoffroy B. van Hasbroeck, to creat this years’ masterpiece which broke another record from it’s 300m stint last year.
The stollen cake was made with much enthusiasm as well as 4,200 eggs, 850 kilograms of flour, 450 kilograms of raisins, 450 kilograms on cranberry, 92 kilograms of marzipan, 420 kilograms of sliced almonds, 240 kilograms each of orange and lemon zest. The traditional, scrumptious cake was a delight for all, making the festive season as merry as it gets!
Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates successfully sold a total of 1500 pieces and raised AED 100,000 which was donated to Emirates Red Crescent Charity.
‘’We are so proud to have raised AED 100,000 from this year’s Stollen Cake sale which is not only an important event for Kempinski’s charitable initiative, but an annual tradition that we welcome in partnership with Mall of the Emirates and Emirates Red Crescent. This would not have been possible without the community coming together to spread cheer for those in need. Now a well established event during the festive season, we aim to carry on the success set by previous editions and continue to raise more funds than ever before. After all, festive season is all about contributing and giving back to the community!’’, said Slim Zaiane, General Manager, Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates.
