Vesna Dubai, the new and contemporary Slavic restaurant, opened on the Mezzanine floor of the Conrad Hotel Sheikh Zayed Road, on 26 November.
The interior of the Vesna is a take on the long-lost magnificent imperial style of Eastern and Baltic Europe characterized by high ornate ceilings, elaborate beaux facades, Art Noveau furniture and shimmering chandeliers.
Culture goes hand in hand with gastronomy at Vesna, where guests can experience live music six days a week performed by the talented in-house pianist and vocalist.
Visitors can dine like pre-revolutionary aristocracy and sample a decadent menu filled with luxury ingredients including fresh lobster, caviar or oysters. Dishes are researched from menus dating back to Catherine the Great and recreated with royal fanfare for the modern gourmand. Vesna brings unique elements of Slavic traditional cuisine like the rich and earthy Borsch and combines it with a modern twist adapted for the local clientele. Those who prefer a sweet finish can opt for the Napoleon cake or Anna Pavlova and enjoy surprising combinations of flavours and textures.
Prize winning Head Chef Maksim Tvorogov, a member of the St. Petersburg club of chefs and a regular participant on cooking shows such as “Tasty Tips” and “Lunchtime”, has a tactical approach to researching the origin of each dish, modernising it and re-introducing it to diners in new and exciting formats.
