Cenizaro Hotels & Resorts is dedicated to creating meaningful and lasting changes that benefit the environment, community, and its people through their Cenizaro Cares programme. This programme is a critical part of their overall sustainability strategy, as it includes community-focused sustainability projects that prioritise the well-being of people, the environment and the marine ecosystem.
In-line with World Earth Day on 22nd April, Cenizaro Hotels & Resorts is launching a new initiative called the Nurture Nature – Nature Nurtures programme to promote environmental sustainability. This programme builds on the existing Cenizaro Cares initiative and focuses specifically on preserving the environment. Its primary objective is to raise awareness of the importance of safeguarding the Earth’s natural resources for future generations while promoting mindfulness in both adults and children. As part of the Nurture Nature – Nature Nurtures programme, Cenizaro Hotels & Resorts has created a petting farm and harvests organic eggs from ducks and chickens across their properties. They are also dedicated to educating children about nature through activities such as their Nature Walk Scavenger Hunts and Earth Basket projects.
Cenizaro Hotels & Resorts will also be launching its latest Spotify album, Cenizaro Calm, on World Earth Day, which pays tribute to Mother Earth. The album is a collection of soothing, gentle, nature-inspired music for guests to personally immerse themselves (or tune in to whilst in residence) in for a more relaxing stay. The album will be available for both streaming and downloading from April 22, 2023.
The Residence Maldives, consisting of both The Residence Maldives at Dhigurah and The Residence Maldives at Falhumaafushi, is preparing to celebrate the annual event in various ways. As part of the celebrations, the resort is offering House Reef cleaning and organising trips to an uninhabited island nearby to clean the area. This island is home to several bird species in the Maldives, making it an essential ecosystem to protect. Additionally, guests can take part in a meditative nature walk that has been scientifically proven to reduce stress and anxiety, lower blood pressure, and boost mood.
The nature walk begins at the Reflexology Garden, where participants start slowly and take deep breaths while focusing on the sensation of the stone beneath their feet. Mindfulness is key throughout the walk as participants absorb their surroundings, the sounds, colours and smells of nature. Participants can use self-reflexology to relieve pain while continuing their journey to the Herbal Garden. Here, participants are encouraged to use their senses to observe the plants and flowers and inhale the surrounding fresh air. They will learn about the benefits of the plants and end with tree hugging, a simple and enjoyable activity that provides physical and mental health benefits while fostering a greater appreciation for the natural world.
The nature walk ends with Yoga Nidra at the yoga pavilion, where participants focus on the present moment and let go of any worries or fears. They are encouraged to remain connected to their bodies and breath, allowing their thoughts to come and go without attachment. After the walk, guests can take some time to relax and recharge with freshly brewed herbal tea from the herbal garden. Participants are encouraged to reflect on their walk, and feel grateful for the opportunity to connect with nature’s beauty.
