Chef Sara Aqel will serve as the next legacy creator for La Table Dubai, the region’s first pop-up kitchen concept. With Sara at the helm, La Table will sail to promising shores for its latest theme, “La Plage”, or “The Beach”.
With a philosophy to create a new atmosphere and menu around each chef and their vision, every host chef will present a fresh concept at La Table for three months, showcasing their culinary and creative prowess. Each chosen chef is a brand in their own right, with their unique signature style and commitment to elevating storytelling through their craft, infusing each dish with the essence of their character in their 3 months stint at La Table, befitting their name, the restaurant, and the new theme.
CEO of 111 Management and La Table Founder Benoit Lamonerie expressed his enthusiasm about the new beach theme and chef: “We are thrilled to welcome Chef Sara Aqel to La Table Dubai, along with her creative culinary vision and dishes, and look forward to her fresh take on our popup kitchen concept. Every three months we present a new Chef, menu, and décor, making it a must-visit spot for food lovers seeking a new experience within a perfect blend of contemporary creativity, and this time we are taking you to the beach with us in the middle of DIFC. There is a mystery in visiting a place every three months and seeing something different, and encouraging the growing expertise of chefs in our local landscape.”
Dubbed by many as the people’s chef, and recognised for her sunshine, smile, and love of creation, Chef Sara Aqel is no stranger to pushing the boundaries of flavours to new heights, while always keeping food at the heart and following her passion for curiosity. “I find immense joy when I cook for others and feel gratitude that they allow me to create something for them. An ingredient is not just an ingredient, but a promise. I’m honoured to be chosen as the next Chef at La Table, and the menu is full of sunshine, colours, and flavours, embodying the beach theme.”
La Table is a team effort and a team execution. The new beach theme was shared by all, and the staff took part in the creation of the décor, adding a personal touch by hand-painting all the restaurant’s plates and glassware.
La Plage with Chef Sara Aqel will launch today and will include a delicious array of unique and classic Italian favourites with a touch of Palestinian roots. For starters, the Palestinian Stracciatela Sandwich is a fresh touch with stracciatela, arugula, pickled onion, bresaola with wild zaatar on olive oil bread. The Eggplant Strawberry Salad adds a delicious twist with yoghurt tahini sauce, and the Local Honey Baked Feta is a savoury dream with thyme, salted and caramelised pecan served with sourdough.
From the simple yet flavourful Caccio E Peppe with Parmigiano, pecorino, and black pepper, to the Spicy Rigatoni with confit heirloom tomatoes and chilli, and the tender Slow Cooked Short Ribs served with decadent saffron risotto and asparagus, the main dishes are an absolute delight.
It’s back to delicious basics for dessert with the ever-classic beloved Tiramisu Chocolate Cup, and the plump Pistachoux with vanilla, caramel, and chocolate choux.
Guests can also enjoy house spirits and grapes for 30 AED and hops and special cocktails for 39 AED during the restaurant’s happy hour from 5 pm to 8 pm. With easy breezy vibes amongst a chill atmosphere, La Table is a laid back, simple, and flavourful street food concept, and the upcoming menu is uncomplicated, easy, and delicious. The upcoming line-up of chefs promises to be anything but routine, a testament to innovation and passion for culinary artistry where guests can always look forward to an exciting flavour journey at La Table.
Chef Sara is set to tantalise taste buds with her gastronomic masterpieces at DIFC, one of Dubai’s most sophisticated locations, and all are welcome.
