Sheraton Abu Dhabi Hotel and Resort is aiming to increase its donation to UNICEF to AED50,000 by the end of the year by auctioning work from Australian artist Des Spencer.
Spencer’s work “through the urban dunes”, which was created in residence in Abu Dhabi measures 120cmx120cm and is valued at AED15,000.
“The painting’s theme reflects on Sheraton Abu Dhabi’s rich heritage, iconic structure and three decades of emotional connection with various generations of the capital. Having received so much support from the community over the years, we sincerely hope that a generous donor will come forward and help us to achieve our fundraising goals,” says hot GM Yves Tarabout.
Earlier in December the hotel organised a flea market, which raised AED23,000 and in September held a charity bazaar which raised AED22,000.
The bidding starts at AED 2000 and will be open until 6pm on the 21st December. If you are interested in making an offer, email Sabine.Farah@Sheraton.com or call 02 677 3333.
Funds will support UNICEF’s WASH projects providing clean drinking water and proper sanitation facilities for children and their families across Africa and the Middle East.
