Saudis took to various online channels to share photos of the new vegan menu available exclusively on Hunger Station. Created by French startup, Furahaa, the menu is fully plant-based and offers fast food favourites, including burgers and fries.
KBW Ventures, founded by Prince Khaled bin Alwaleed bin Talal, invested in Furahaa in May 2021. The Prince welcomed the brand’s foray into the Kingdom on X, the channel formerly known as Twitter, applauding the company’s market popularity. “KBW Ventures is excited to see our portfolio company Furahaa make its mark in Saudi. Building on our investment, we are proud to support this entrepreneur’s first move into the Kingdom. Congratulations to Furahaa on so many successful online food reviews in such a short period.”
Across Instagram stories and X, users shared the news of the launch and images and videos of their freshly delivered orders. In various Saudi vegan Facebook groups, users discussed the new menu launch and shared photos.
Created by entrepreneur Arthur Devillers, Furahaa was awarded ‘favourite establishment’ at the French Snack & Sandwich Show in December 2021. A mission-driven startup, the company in France employs deaf people, advocating for an inclusive job market.
Founded in 2015, Furahaa France has three operating subsidiaries: PlantB2B, ViVeg, and its eponymous dining venue, Furahaa. The Saudi launch is the company’s first appearance in the MENA region, has seen early success with extremely positive online traction and reviews.
