Berenjak, the London restaurant opened by founder Kian Samyani and restaurant group JKS Restaurants, has today announced they will open their first international site this November in Dubai, in the heart of Dar Wasl with Belhasa Hospitality, bringing the rich flavours and traditions of Persian cuisine to the Emirate.
Berenjak’s first location opened in 2018 in the heart of London’s Soho, and was awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand in 2019, which it has held ever since. It’s become known for its modern interpretation of classic Persian cuisine, and is inspired by the Iranian family meals of founder Kian Samyani’s childhood. The second location opened in London’s Borough Market in 2022. The Dubai location is poised to become the newest hotspot in the city’s vibrant culinary scene. The emerging Dar Wasl district makes the perfect home for Berenjak’s first international outpost.
Berenjak Dubai’s interiors are set to evoke the warmth and hospitality for which Persian culture is celebrated. The restaurant’s décor hosts a blend of classical Persian patterns and textiles, staying true to traditional Iranian style. With seating for 54 indoors, 40 outdoors, and a private dining room for larger parties up to 12, the transportive space provides the perfect backdrop for memorable dining experiences, whether a casual gathering or a special celebration.
The Dubai menu will feature Berenjak’s most iconic dishes from their London locations. The menu will include Mazeh such as Black Chickpea Hummus and Kashk E Bademjoon, coal cooked Kebabs including Berenjak’s popular Jujeh Kabab and Kabab Koobideh, all served with signature Taftoon and Sangak breads. In addition there will be a number of dishes exclusive to the Dubai menu including the Shishlik Omani, succulent lamb chops marinated in dried lime, saffron and strained yoghurt.
The same attention to detail has gone into the drinks menu which features a variety of elevated hot and iced teas alongside Berenjak’s signature carbonated sharbats. A sweet and refreshing blend of fresh mint and black lime, the signature Black Lime Sharbat, is sure to be a favourite.
Kian Samyani, says, “We are thrilled to bring the spirit and flavours of Berenjak to Dubai with Belhasa Hospitality. With our unique approach to Persian cuisine, we aim to deliver an unforgettable dining experience that captures the high energy feeling of our original London Soho location. We can’t wait to share our passion for Persian food with the people of Dubai.”
