Healthy café @blend (pronounced ‘at blend’) serving smoothies, salads and wraps has opened at Shoreline Beach Club 4, on Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah.
The concept has been co-founded by Malak AlHabib, Mohammed AlSadiq and Karam AlSadiq and head chef and outlet manager, Paul Parik created the menu, which include a range of smoothies and detox drinks.
Co-founder Malak AlHabib said: “@blend is meant to replace visits to fast-food joints with a more meaningful and satisfying meal while staying tuned in to urban and social trends.
“We’re taking healthy eating to the next level, not just by providing residents with fresh meals to improve their overall lifestyle, but also by educating our customers about every single ingredient that goes inside their meal and the benefits.”
The menu includes five ‘Fitness’ smoothies, such as ‘Beach Bod’ and ‘GuiltFree’, which are high in protein and can be drunk just half an hour before a workout because they easily digested.
The café also serves six ‘Wellness’ smoothies, such as ‘Supercharged’ to boost immunity or ‘Nectar of Joy’ to aid digestion.
There are also three dessert smoothies on the menu, including ‘Cheat Day’ which contains Nutella, banana, milk and coffee, or ‘SeaBreeze’, a children’s smoothie, containing strawberry, banana, milk, honey and mint.
Health supplements can be added, such as beauty collagen, electrolytes, immunity booster or probiotics, and whey protein, vegan protein, creatine and glutamine can be added to wellness smoothies to aid a workout.
The cafe also has a ready-to-eat section with freshly made wraps, salads, protein bars or muffins. The five salad offerings can be customised with a selection of toppings, dressings and proteins.
@blend is open daily from 11am to 10pm and is offering a 20% opening discount on the total bill.
