AlUla Desert Polo returns to AlUla on 16–17 January 2026, building on its legacy as the world’s first organised desert polo tournament, set within the destination’s breathtaking desert landscape.
A highlight of the AlUla Moments 2025/26 calendar, the exclusive spectacle combines world-class polo, high fashion, cultural heritage, and the unmatched beauty of AlUla’s terrain.
Organised by the Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU), the 2026 tournament will once again reinforce AlUla’s position as a global destination for premium sports tourism and luxury lifestyle experiences.
This year’s edition also follows a significant milestone for AlUla’s heritage sports ecosystem. The Royal Commission for AlUla announced a landmark three-year partnership with Mohammed Yousuf Naghi Motors (MYNM), the exclusive distributor of Jaguar and Land Rover in Saudi Arabia, appointing the company as the Founding Partner of Heritage Sports in AlUla. Under the partnership, MYNM JLR becomes the Official Partner across flagship heritage sports events including AlUla Desert Polo and the FEI Endurance World Championship 2026.
Set among the towering sandstone canyons at Mohammed Yousuf Naghi Equestrian Village, AlUla Desert Polo offers front-row views of elite polo action in an atmosphere where sport meets sophistication. The event attracts a style-savvy, international audience alongside regional elite and members of royalty, all gathering to experience a unique blend of horsemanship, culture, fashion, and Saudi Arabian hospitality.
Beyond the pitch, guests can enjoy gourmet food and immersive entertainment, shaded lounge and relaxation spaces, a dedicated Kids Zone with family-friendly activities, live music, and pop-up retail stores, local crafts, and interactive installations.
Tickets are now on sale, with single-day passes starting at SAR 380, while a two-day pass is available for SAR 570 when purchased through the app.
For those seeking an enhanced experience, the Polo Players Circle add-on offers all Premium Pass benefits along with guided access to the field before or after matches. Guests will have the opportunity to meet players, take photos, and receive exclusive event souvenirs
Ziad AlSuhaibani, Chief Sports Officer at Royal Commission for AlUla, said: “AlUla Desert Polo has become one of the region’s most distinctive sporting experiences. Its return in 2026 highlights AlUla’s unique ability to offer heritage, luxury, and athletic excellence in a setting unlike anywhere else in the world. We look forward to welcoming the players and guests back for another unforgettable tournament.”
Since debuting in 2020, AlUla Desert Polo has grown into an annual highlight of the AlUla Moments calendar – the year-round schedule of events and festivals celebrating sports, culture, arts, discovery, and heritage in AlUla. Other upcoming sports events on the calendar include the professional cycling AlUla Tour (27 Jan-31 Jan) , the AlUla Trail Race (22-23 Jan 2026), and AlFursan Endurance AlUla (7-8 Feb 2026) – one of the most prestigious events in endurance horse racing.
