Sheraton Abu Dhabi Hotel & Resort has launched a series of Italian cooking classes hosted by La Mamma’s Italian chef, Juri Pelusi.
The cooking lessons will teach participants how to prepare authentic dishes, including some of chef Pelusi’s family recipes.
During the first class, to take place on Saturday 20 August, chef Pelusi will demonstrate how to make homemade gnocchi and risotto.
At the end of the tutorial, the aspiring chefs will be able to enjoy their creations along with a glass of bubbly.
The culinary team will provide participants with all the ingredients and cooking equipment, as well as a chef’s hat and apron.
Chef Pelusi, a native of Abruzzo, commented: “I started to work at the age of 15, learning my culinary skills from seasoned chefs of my hometown. While I am always looking for new ideas, it is very important that I look after my gastronomic roots.
“At La Mamma, patrons can expect genuine Italian flavours cooked with carefully selected ingredients. We welcome both novices and gourmet experts to our classes and we will go to great lengths to ensure our programme delivers a hands-on experience.”
Held monthly in La Mamma, bookings are now open for 20 August, 17 September and 22 October from 4-5.30pm.
Each class is priced at AED 125 per person, excluding a 10% service charge, 6% tourism fee and 4% municipality fee.
