On Wednesday, 12th November 2025, La Petite Maison Dubai, the birthplace of the iconic Tomatini, will lead the global celebrations for the second annual Tomatini Day, a tribute to the cocktail that started a worldwide savoury drinks movement.
Created in 2010 by Jimmy Barrat, the Tomatini was born at La Petite Maison Dubai and has since become the restaurant’s signature drink. Now marking its 15th anniversary, the Tomatini stands as a modern classic, beloved by discerning guests across continents and recognised as a symbol of Riviera-inspired sophistication.
Following the global success of Tomatini Day’s inaugural celebration in 2024, this year’s edition promises an even more dynamic experience, in partnership with Ketel One Vodka and Pure Harvest, the UAE-based sustainable farm that supplies the restaurant’s signature tomatoes.
World Tomatini Day
On Wednesday, 12th November, La Petite Maison Dubai will transform into a vibrant homage to its most famous creation. The restaurant will unveil a playful custom-made Tomatini installation displayed at the entrance and created exclusively for LPM. Additionally, in collaboration with MICHELIN-starred Chef Danny Khezzar, La Petite Maison will debut a special Tomatini Sorbet, inspired by the signature cocktail and crafted to capture its savoury essence. The sorbet will have its grand reveal in person by Chef Khezzar on the evening of November 12th, marking a highlight of the celebration. As the evening unfolds, the bar will take centre stage from 5 PM to 7 PM, the bar will come alive as Jimmy Barrat, the creator of the original Tomatini, returns behind the bar alongside former LPM bartenders for an unmissable reunion. A lively DJ will further set the atmosphere throughout the evening.
Local Guest Bartender Shifts
The celebrations will continue the following day, 13th November, when four of Dubai’s most renowned bars, including Bâoli (Claudiu Mnerau), Nobu (Sharfin Akter Auni), Amelia (Alain Achkar) and Zuma (Mirko Amin), will take over the bar. All four bartenders will showcase their own interpretations of the Tomatini, each bringing a fresh perspective to the modern classic.
Tomatini Business Lunch
Guests can also enjoy a month-long celebration through the Tomatini Business Lunch, running from 12th November until the end of the month, where diners can savour LPM’s beloved lunch experience with unlimited Tomatinis for AED 160 per person. Throughout the venue, the celebration continues with tomato-inspired décor, bespoke uniforms, and playful touches that capture the joie de vivre of the Côte d’Azur.
Tibor Krascenics, Global Bar Manager at LPM Group, comments: “From Dubai to London to Miami, the Tomatini has become our global signature. Our bartenders take pride in serving something so instantly recognisable, and it reflects the creativity and consistency guests have come to expect at La Petite Maison.”
The Tomatini, crafted exclusively with Ketel One Vodka, combines freshly muddled Campari tomatoes, a pinch of salt and pepper, 3-year-old white balsamic vinegar, and a touch of simple syrup, finished with a salt-and-pepper-dipped cherry tomato and a crack of fresh black pepper from LPM’s signature oversized pepper mill.
Earlier this year, La Petite Maison Dubai achieved #60 on the World’s 50 Best Bars extended list and was named Restaurant of the Decade by Time Out Dubai, reaffirming its influence as one of the city’s most celebrated institutions. With ten locations worldwide and new openings on the horizon, LPM continues to embody the joie de vivre of the Côte d’Azur. Tomatini Day is more than a celebration of a drink; it is a tribute to the creativity, craftsmanship, and spirit that define La Petite Maison.
