Well-known Indian chef Farrokh Khambata’s is opening ‘JAAN at The Penthouse’, a new Indian restaurant at Sofitel Dubai Downtown.
Khambata has designed a menu that contains the essence of traditional Indian cuisine delivered in a healthy and light way, with a focus on taste and presentation.
Menu options include salmon kejriwal, fire cracker roll, cherry wood chicken, gold flake barrah kebabs, jhaal muri ceviche and silver hill duck confit.
Chef Khambata commented: “I am extremely excited to venture into Dubai and be a part of the rising culinary wave. A lot of heart and soul was invested into this project and I can’t wait for our guests to experience an exquisite and personalised culinary experience from begging to end.”
Ammar Hilal, GM of Sofitel Dubai Downtown commented: “There are only a few restaurants in Dubai that offer a dining experience that touches on all senses. JAAN at The Penthouse will take Indian food lovers to a multi-sensory culinary voyage, combining unique flavors with visual arts.”
Indian architect firm Neterwala and Aibara designed the interiors.
The 90-seat restaurant features an open kitchen and communal dining options, and has views over Burj Khalifa.
JAAN at The Penthouse is open for dinner from Saturday to Tuesday from 6:30pm to 1am and from 6:30pm to 3am Wednesday to Friday.
Farrokh Khambata started his catering company Catering and Allied in 1993 and today is chef proprietor of India’s JOSS Catering Services and fine dining restaurants, Amadeus, Café at the NCPA, Umame and JOSS.
