The Metropolitan Hotel Dubai on Shaikh Zayed Road, which was demolished in May 2013 to make way for Al Habtoor City, is set to make a comeback.
The hotel is set to reopen its doors to guests before the end of this year said Al Habtoor Group. The original Metropolitan Hotel was built in 1979 and was replaced by Al Habtoor City, which now incorporates The St. Regis Dubai, W Dubai and The Westin Hotel, Habtoor City.
The new Metropolitan Hotel Dubai will open in a new location on Shaikh Zayed Road, near Exit 41 (Al Thanya Street). The 4-star property will have 320 contemporary rooms including 18 suites, and a gym, rooftop swimming pool and spa. Guests will also have access to the pool and beach facilities at Habtoor Grand Resort, Autograph Collection, according to the company statement.
Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor, Chairman of Al Habtoor Group, said: “We look forward to welcoming our first guests. When we demolished The Metropolitan Hotel I promised our loyal customers that I would rebuild the hotel. Three years on I have fulfilled that promise, and we look forward to receiving both new and old customers to the premises.”
