Nando’s will open its flagship Middle East outlet this month in Riyadh on Tahlia Street.
The restaurant brand, which specialises in flame-grilled Peri Peri chicken, first launched in the Saudi capital in November 2016, breaking international sales records and serving 180,000 people to date.
Richard Barclay, COO Foodmark commented: “Recognised internationally as the only way to eat chicken, Nando’s PERi-PERi has taken KSA by storm.
“The brand is excited to be further extending its hospitality, leading the way in Afro-Portuguese style flame-grilled PERi-PERi chicken. Nando’s is set to grow its loyal fan base with the introduction of Tahlia Street, Riyadh, and most importantly, continue to bring PERi-PERi to the people.”
Each Nando’s is designed to look different, with earthy textures and vibrant colours that reflect its Afro-Portuguese heritage.
The handpainted shopfront uses traditional African-influenced patterns combined with hand-carved clay designs.
Over 50 pieces of Southern African art feature on the walls of the new Tahlia Street outlet. Nando’s has over 11,000 pieces of art in total.
Barclay continued: “Playing true homage to the Minha casa é sua casa meaning, the Nando’s experience is just that; our home is your home. Our restaurants are designed to make you feel comfortable and energized, with a multi-sensorial experience.
“With such a huge success seen from the Rubeen Plaza restaurant, the support we have received from our loyal fans has meant we are more fired up than ever, and ready to take on a whole new adventure.”
Nando’s is available in Lemon & Herb, Mild, Hot and Extra-Hot flavours. The menu offers various options from flame-grilled Peri-Peri chicken to salads, burgers, wraps, desserts and soft drinks.
Established in 1987 in Johannesburg, South Africa, Nando’s has since expanded worldwide to over 23 countries across five continents.
