Food safety risks and challenges will be on the menu at the Food Safety Oman Conference, which is taking place from 16-17 October at the Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre.
The conference will provide an avenue for the exchange of ideas and strategies among policy makers and various stakeholders on issues relating to food policy and regulations, in addition to innovative approaches and technological advancements for the assurance of food safety and quality in the Sultanate.

The topics include food safety and environment, regulatory environment, presenting best-practice case studies to help and identify how to tackle critical issues in food safety, food handlers training, food inspection, supply chain, logistics and packaging and new technologies.
The conference will also feature a brainstorming session between food officers from Muscat Municipality and food safety experts from the private and public sector. The session is aimed at discussing the key factors in improving the health situation of restaurants, developing the food inspection systems in the country, and enabling and building a sustainable food safety culture.
