Turkish company Inoksan is investing heavily in new machinery and products as it witnesses a boom in the local and export market.
Speaking on the sidelines of GulfHost 2017 at Dubai World Trade Centre, the firm’s export manager Umut K. Akkaya spoke about the wide range of products being promoted to GCC buyers at the show.
“We are showcasing our cooking line, refrigeration, open buffets, combi-steamers, Donner Kebab machines and dishwashers. We’ve been producing this equipment since 1980 in Turkey and we are exporting to five continents and more than 80 countries.
“The Middle East and Gulf is one of our major markets and 30% of our exports are going to this. Apart from this we are exporting to the US, Europe, Africa and south-east Asia as well.”
The latest launch from Inoksan is a combi-steamer, with automatic cooking and self-cleaning features making it the company’s “next generation oven”.
“You can cook meals in individual trays, it’s a fully automatic oven, you can just set what you want to cook and go… the gas version is with the premix burner system, which saves around 40% energy,” said Akkaya.
In addition to the combi-steamer, Inoksan’s new open buffets are on display at the show. They offer a cooling top system with Korean and laminate décor that is fully customisable.
As the export market continues to grow, Akkaya is optimistic for the year ahead.
“This year started a little bit slow but after April there was a big boom in our local and export market. At this moment, we are over-capacity in production so we are making heavy investments in machinery and in 2018 we believe this will continue at an increasing pace,” he said.
“In 2018, we are also planning to launch new products and we’re very optimistic about the coming two or three years.”
GulfHost is taking place as part of Dubai International Hospitality Week from 18 – 20 September at Dubai World Trade Centre.
