Dubai Furniture Manufacturing Company (DFMC) is launching a gel-infused memory foam mattresses from American brand Serta International at The Hotel Show Dubai.
Sundar Rajan, CEO Dubai Furniture Manufacturing Company commented: “We keep coming up with new products for hospitality and retail. Many of the customers use the popular memory foam mattress but in our opinion, it’s suitable for some but not for many because it generates heat on the surface.
“Serta have researched this and developed a product, which is gel-infused foam and this dissipates the heat generated on the surface, thereby maintaining a constant temperature, unlike normal memory foam. This is being introduced at The Hotel Show.”
David Bauman, director, global hospitality, Serta International is exhibiting alongside Rajan at the show and believes the future is bright for the Serta brand in the Middle East.
He comments: “We see a lot of growth in Asia but the Middle East is a key area for many of the brands we deal with.
“I manage the global contracts, but I need to come to the region to be in touch with the people handling the supply and procurement in each region to make sure the products and services are right for them. We see nothing but a bright future for the hotel business in this region.”
In addition to Serta mattresses, DFMC manufactures King Koil products and provides fully-customisable mattresses for customers as well as extensive training for housekeeping staff.
“Whenever we have the opportunity to customise a mattress for a customer, we provide them with the various options so they can test our products with their guests and they go for the one that gets the highest rating. We work very closely with the hospitality companies in developing their products and in the final product,” says Rajan.
“One more thing we’re very good at is training – it’s the start of a good relationship. Whenever we get an order from a particular chain we take the order and we train the housekeeping staff in maintenance of the product – it’s a big investment for a hotel so it’s very important the hotel keeps the product in good condition.”
