Crowne Plaza & Holiday Inn Kuwait Al Thuraya City has announced that Raffi Torikian has been named executive assistant manager.
In addition to stepping in for the general manager in their absence, Torikian will be responsible for providing day-to- day leadership and direction through “maximising financial returns, driving people development, creating and maintaining a unique guest experience and building on the hotel and brand awareness in Kuwait”.
Antoine Flouty, area general manager, IHG Kuwait, said: “We are very excited to have Raffi on board!
“His experience, knowledge and know-how around the industry will aid in making our hotels accomplish tasks and different ways. His efficiency and attention to detail will not only guide the colleagues but will also please every guest that visits us.”
Torikian started his career with IHG back in 2001 with InterContinental Le Vendome as sales executive. During the eight years he spent with this property, he got several promotions until he reached the position of director of sales & marketing.
In 2009, Raffi moved to Yas Island as cluster director of sales & marketing for both properties – Crowne Plaza and Staybridge Suites – and a year later he was promoted to area director of sales & marketing for Dubai.
In 2013 he moved to Rotana Hotels & Resorts in their corporate office as area director of sales in charge of 17 properties for two years. Then, he enjoyed a spell as director of hotel operations with Abu Dhabi National Hotels.
