Melia Dubai, the five star Spanish hotel in Bur Dubai, has partnered with the Dubai Road and Transport Authority, to aid in their latest corporate social responsibility campaign, ‘Biryanis For Cabbies.’
Yesterday, from 12:30pm – 4:00pm, Meliá Dubai prepared and distributed Meliá Meal Boxes aimed to provide Dubai taxi drivers with a delicious yet nutritious meal ahead of the Eid Al Adha holiday. This included a choice of either a vegetarian or non-vegetarian biryani, made fresh in the kitchen of award-winning Indian restaurant, Signature by Sanjeev Kapoor. The Meliá Meal Boxes were designed to be conveniently portable, containing bottled water, a bottle of fruit juice and an apple so that the taxi drivers could stay refreshed during their journey.
Saurabh Tiwari, the Food & Beverage Director of Meliá Dubai, said, “At Meliá Dubai we strive to contribute to our local community and our Meliá Meal Boxes are the perfect way to do this. We would also like to thank the RTA for their co-operation and we hope that our ‘Biryanis For Cabbies’ effort will prove to be a great success.”
Meliá Dubai will be posting photographs from the ‘Biryanis For Cabbies’ event on their social media channels and have asked the community to use the hashtag #BiryanisForCabbies to spread awareness online.
The ‘Biryanis For Cabbies’ campaign is the second campaign that Meliá Dubai has launched this year. In June the hotel braved the summer heat and visited over 350 travel agents in a vintage ice cream caravan delivering tubs of refreshing ice-cream, for the #MeliaSummer Ice cream campaign.
