Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa will welcome special guest chefs from Shangri-La Hotel, Chiang Mai, Thailand to showcase their authentic cooking skills from 1 November until 12 November 2015 at Asia restaurant.
With more than 30 years experience in the kitchen, Chef Wasana Tanthong has been fortunate enough to work in all of the Thai regions developing her own unique cooking style. Highlighting the distinct ingredients and spices used in Thai cuisine, Chef Wasana is happy to share her passion and expertise with colleagues and guests alike. Visiting Muscat with Chef Wasana is Chef Pornchai Wongkaew who is not only skilled in traditional Thai cooking but also an expert in Western specialities. Together they will take diners on an exotic culinary adventure to discover the best signature delicacies of Thai cuisine.
Signature dishes featured in the special à la carte menu will include Tom Yam prawn soup, Chiang Mai style curry yellow noodles with braised chicken, crispy fried soft shell crabs with spicy sauce and stir-fried rice noodles with prawns and tofu in tamarind sauce. For dessert lovers, caramelised banana with taro ice cream is the iconic Thai dessert that should not be missed.
