Celebrity chefs from around the world will headline the launch celebrations of Dubai Food Festival, to take place from 25 February – 12 March.
The A-list culinary line-up comprises Australian MasterChef stars George Calombaris and Gary Mehigan; French chef Manu Feildel from Australian cooking show ‘My Kitchen Rules’; Australian TV chef Matt Moran; popular restaurateur and author, Shannon Bennett, and Manal Al Alem, a celebrated Emirati chef.
Visitors to the festival will have a chance to get up close to the chefs at the Dining with the Stars events and at the Beach Canteen, or during the interactive chef MasterClasses at cookery school, Scafa in Jumeirah Lakes Towers.
Laila Suhail, CEO of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE) commented: “The fact that these world-class masters have chosen Dubai Food Festival to showcase their culinary mastery is clear proof that Dubai is steadily becoming a beacon for foodies and experts from across the globe.”
Shannon Bennett, best known as head chef of Melbourne’s Vue de Monde restaurant, commented: “Dubai has always proven exciting. I like searching Dubai for unique cooking techniques I can bring back to our kitchens. I am looking forward to being involved in the Dubai Food Festival and exploring what unique produce and cooking techniques Dubai has to offer.”
Also looking forward to his trip to Dubai, is UK-born and trained Chef Gary Mehigan – best known for his role as host and mentor on MasterChef Australia.
“Dubai is famous for its eclectic mix of world class chefs and restaurants that boast some of the most exquisite locations, I also love digging a little deeper to find and experience some authentic and unique local Emirati cuisine,” Mehigan said.
