Dubai Exports has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with strategic partner of Business France, the national agency supporting the international development of the French economy at this year’s Gulfood trade show.
The alliance between the two countries will also enhance business and trade, thus attracting more business between the two. Dubai Exports overseas offices across six countries brought remarkable performance in 2015.
Deputy CEO, Mohammad Ali Al Kamali of Dubai Exports noted that with local exporters and manufacturers venturing successfully into markets overseas there is a need for an improved range of products and competitive re-export hubs especially in emerging markets.
He revealed that Dubai Exports has witnessed greater demand for its exporter services in 2015. The signing ceremony was attended by Engineer Saed Al Awadi, CEO of Dubai Exports and Henri Baissas, Deputy CEO of Business France ; in presence of Michel Miraillet, Ambassador of France to the UAE, Marc Cagnard, Business France Director in the Middle East, Sophia Salmi, Head of Agribusiness Department.
The MoU was signed at the French pavilion at Gulfood trade show to establish a framework of cooperation in order to develop and strengthen links in the field of trade promotion between Dubai and France. Al Awadi said: “We are delighted to work closely with a French government agency such as Business France to enhance businesses in the UAE. We welcome this very fruitful partnership to begin a long run relationship and to extend French presence in Dubai and the UAE.
Henri Baissas noted that the France – UAE relations dates back to the founding of the federation in 1971. He added that the leadership of the UAE and France are committed to supporting and strengthening bilateral relations for the benefit of both countries. “We are honored to work closely with Dubai Exports to improve the exchange of experiences and expertise and boost export growth from Dubai as well as French exports,” said Baissas.
The signing of this MoU reflects both parties’ commitment to reinforce ties between France and UAE. Dubai Exports and Business France will form a team to manage their upcoming joint projects, such as improve joint trade events and activities participation. The Ambassador said that Business France will continue to promote France’s companies, business image through the new Creative France Campaign and nationwide attractiveness as an investment location. Business France also runs the VIE international internship programme.
