South Anatolian restaurant, Köşebaşı in Dubai has introduced fun campaign, ‘Friends over Phones’, whereby diners are encouraged to put their phones aside while having dinner.
Starting from 1 May with a phone stack box placed in the middle of each table, Köşebaşı challenges diners to enjoy an entire meal without checking their phones.
A monitor is nominated by the group, and it is their responsibility to watch to see if anyone breaks the phone stack pact.
If the whole table gets to the end of the meal without looking at their phones, then everyone wins a free breakfast item when a breakfast of equal or higher value is ordered.
If they don’t manage, only the monitor walks away with the prize.
Commenting on the ‘Friends over Phones’ initiative, Roy Ghattas, regional brand manager for Köşebaşı: said: “Köşebaşı is a family-friendly dining experience, with tradition and a sense of home at its heart.
“With the ‘Friends over Phones’ campaign, we are encouraging our guests to live in the now, and enjoy the company of each other, with the added incentive of prizes at the end.”
Serving Eastern Mediterranean cuisine since it was established in 1995 in Istanbul, Köşebaşı now has venues across the Middle East, including JBR Walk, Dubai.
All menus are inspired by Köşebaşı’s Mediterranean origins, with dishes including Kebaps, Pide, and Eggs Menemen.
Köşebaşı Arabia is operated by fashion and lifestyle retail company, Azadea Group, which owns and operates more than 55 international franchise concepts across the Middle East and Africa.
