Chef Uwe Micheel, director of kitchens, Radisson Blu Hotel Dubai Deira Creek and president, Emirates Culinary Guild will open his own licensed Emirati restaurant, Aseelah.
Located at Radisson Blu Hotel Dubai Diera Creek, Aseelah will combine the old and new, with the aim of illustrating Dubai’s past and present through its menu.
With the help of local families, the dishes have been created by Chef Micheel to include rich flavours, with saffron, ginger, cardamom, thyme and turmeric some of the key ingredients incorporated.
Each dish is cooked using local produce, with menu items including Balalit and Bajella, Chicken Machboos and pumpkin pudding dessert, Asidat Bobar.
The restaurant will also include a live bread and dessert making station.
Featuring private dining rooms, a bar and a terrace with lounge seating offering Shisha, and an Arabic DJ providing the entertainment, Aseelah will open on 1 June.
