New beach destination, Happiness Island Resort has opened in Abu Dhabi and can be accessed by speed boat from a Saadiyat Island jetty.
The resort has 26 two-bedroom villas, known as ‘Houses of Happiness’, which have terraces leading directly to the beach.
The villas are also available for year-long rentals.
Facilities include two swimming pools, one of which is an infinity pool with views over the sea, as well as a children’s play area.
On the edge of one of the pools is a waterfall bar and guests can relax around the pool area on beanbags and sofas.
Dining options include an all-day dining restaurant by the pool, serving a menu of burgers, sharwarmas and pizza, and a Japanese Teppanyaki restaurant will open shortly.
Shisha is on offer at the poolside.
There are also plans to open a spa and introduce water sport and wellness activities such as yoga, aqua aerobics and pilates.
For meetings and team building activities, there is a multi-purpose room equipped with audio and visual equipment.
Ashraf Ahmed, executive director of Happiness Island Resort, said: “Happiness Island Resort offers a first-of-its-kind concept where relaxation meets sophistication in the United Arab Emirates.
“We are confident this is an offering that will quickly overtake the country as the place to be for not just families, but also for couples seeking a romantic getaway or a group of friends looking to recharge.”
Happiness Island Resort is now open for bookings and is priced at AED 1,000 per night during the soft opening period for four people in a two-bedroom villa.
Following the soft opening phase, prices will return to the standard rate of AED 6,000 per two-bedroom villa.
