International Centre for Culinary Arts (ICCA) Dubai has been awarded ‘International Centre of Excellence Middle East’ and ‘Overall International Centre of the Year’ at the City & Guilds Lion Awards 2016.
The school was recognised for its operations, quality of delivery, industry engagement, social responsibility and its impact on students.
This year marked the launch of the City & Guilds International Centre of Excellence awards, which recognises outstanding achievement of City & Guilds centres around the world, outside of the UK and Ireland.
Five regional awards including Africa, Middle East, Asia Pacific, Europe & The Caribbean, Middle East and South Asia were distributed, with ICCA Dubai recognised as the Middle East winner.
ICCA Dubai also took home the ‘Overall International Centre of the Year’ award, which was recognised with a Lion Award trophy.
The Lion Awards event is open to winners of City & Guilds medals from the Medals for Excellence programme, which celebrates success among learners and tutors.
This year City & Guilds has awarded over 100 medals for excellence in the UK and internationally.
Founded in 1878, City & Guilds London is the world’s largest vocational awarding body, with more than 500 qualifications and apprenticeships across 30 industry sectors.
