Nespresso has introduced its new Envivo Lungo, the most intense of the Nespreso Lungo range.
A dark roasted coffee, the Envivo Lungo has an intensity of 9 on Nespresso’s 1 – 12 scale, defined by evaluating roasted notes, bitterness and body.
It blends Arabica from India with a Robusta from Mexico, with roasted, woody, gingerbread notes.
Alexis Rodriguez, head of coffee development at Nespresso commented: “We carefully crafted Envivo Lungo with a high proportion of Robusta coffee beans to produce a strong, full bodied coffee.
“We specifically use washed Robusta which gives a more refined taste to deliver a final product that is intense but without any harshness on the palate.”
Envivo Lungo joins the range of five existing Nespresso Lungos, all designed to be used at the largest, 110ml serving size.
These are the rich and full-bodied Fortissio Lungo, with an intensity of 8; the Linzio Lungo, a round and smooth blend, and Vivalto Lungo, a complex balanced blend, both with an intensity of 4; the Bukeela Ka Ethiopia, a floral and wild blend of pure origin, with level 3 intensity; and Vivalto Lungo Decaffeinato, a complex, balanced decaf blend with an intensity of 4.
Envivo Lungo has been designed to appeal to espresso consumers who like a long, intense cup, or a long coffee with milk, which gives the blend a rounder flavour while maintaining its intensity.
As a latte macchiato, the Envivo Lungo has softened woody notes, with round, buttery aromatics.
Envivo Lungo is a permanent addition to the Nespresso range which now consists of 24 varieties.
It will be available from Nespresso boutiques and through orders from the Nespresso Club.
