Stephen Bennett, general manager Pulsar Foodstuff Trading explains why his company is supporting The Big F&B Forum, set to take place on Tuesday 20 September at The Westin Mina Seyahi, Dubai
Why have you chosen to support BNC Publishing’s Big F&B forum?
Being involved in events such as The Big F&B Forum offers the ideal platform to stay in touch with our customers and hear what they have to say about the industry. We will have time to chat with clients who we may not have seen for a while and there will be opportunities to meet some new faces from the hospitality market. It is always important for a company such as ours to be out there supporting our industry.
What is your opinion of the Middle East’s F&B landscape?
We feel that the F&B landscape in the Middle East has always been quite sturdy. F&B outlets are very creative with their offerings, and are not afraid to think outside the box. The industry as a whole is able to offer every conceivable dish, which grants customers an endless choice and a new destination every week. It is amazing to see how this area of the world can have every delicacy the world has to offer and be as cosmopolitan as established cities such as New York, London or Paris.
What are your new launches this year?
Pulsar Foodstuff is proud to have just opened its first retail unit in Mercato Mall. The Gourmet Olive Market will be selling a huge variety of the best olives the world has to offer. We will also have a selection of the world’s finest olive oils and balsamic vinegars, gift hampers and some delightful olive wood trinkets. The majority of these items are available to the hotel industry. We look forward to welcoming all hoteliers and F&B professionals to our market.
What are your company’s predictions for the next 12 months?
We are predicting a moderate level of growth over the next twelve months. There continues to be plenty of building of attractions and hotels in the region which will bring in more tourists. We have also introduced new lines of products, which will contribute to our own personal growth. As we move closer and closer to 2020, the momentum is gradually increasing, and businesses are investing more and taking more chances, which sparks more interest and positivity in the region.
