With a distinguished career spanning over a decade in the culinary world, Chef Christian brings a wealth of expertise and a proven track record of excellence to his new position.
Bringing an abundance of fresh ideas, perspectives and techniques to Hilton Dubai Palm Jumeirah, Chef Christian will focus on creating compelling menu concepts, innovative dining experiences within the hotel and ensuring consistent quality in food production that exceeds guest expectations. He will spearhead and oversee the operations of 11 restaurants within the hotel including – Barfly by Buddha-Bar, CLAW BBQ Palm Jumeirah, Trader Vic’s Palm Jumeirah, Jones The Grocer Palm West Best and McGettingan’s Factory Palm Jumeirah and hotel signature ones SocialBee, Zing Beach Club and Mowsem Restaurant.
With a passion for revitalizing old-fashioned cooking styles, Chef Christian is eager to implement this concept at Hilton Dubai Palm Jumeirah, embracing culinary traditions such as fermentation, pickling, and the nose-to-tail concept, reconnecting with time-honoured flavours and techniques. This approach brings a sense of nostalgia, as well as aligns with the growing trend of appreciating artisanal, handcrafted, and sustainable culinary practices.
Sustainability and waste management is paramount to Chef Christian’s vision. He intends to establish the property as a leader in eco-friendly practices by implementing initiatives such as no-waste dishes at the hotel , encouraging more live interaction cooking at Mowsem’s buffet to reduce food waste, forging partnerships with local farmers that showcase locally sourced ingredients, and providing locally inspired amenities that reflect the unique flavours and culture of the region.
Born and raised in Copenhagen, Denmark, Chef Christian embarked on his culinary journey from 1997 to 2001, where he enrolled in a comprehensive four-year culinary program, learning extensive on-the-job training that provided him with a strong foundation and necessary skillset that would later define his inspiring career.
With experience spanning across various countries, including France, Sweden, Denmark, Ireland and the UK, Chef Christian has held the position of Executive Chef at renowned hospitality brands, including Constance Lemuria, Six Senses Zil Payson, Conrad Rangali Maldives and Waldorf Astoria Ras Al Khaimah. He boasts an impressive list of achievements that underlines his exceptional leadership and strategic acumen to drive business growth, including being recognized as Manager of the Year in 2015 at Constance Lemuria.
Chef Christian is not your ordinary chef, in his spare time, he enjoys a good game of football, dining out with friends and chasing beautiful sunsets. Beyond his culinary skills, he’s on a mission for better health, opting for wellness over Danish pastries. Known as “Yes Chef” and his love for chefs’ reactions to orders, Chef Christian values personal development in his team and pushes culinary boundaries, particularly in fermentation.
