Asia de Cuba will open its doors in Bahrain this February in Gallery 21.
At the helm of the kitchen is Asia de Cuba’s Cuban-born executive chef, Luis Pous, who will fuse Asian techniques and ingredients with traditional Cuban food and culture.
The venue will feature the North American brand’s signature Chino-Latino dishes such as chicken chicharrones served either traditional or with honey soy glaze, and its tuna with seared foie gras, orange, Asian pear and malanga chips.
The menu will also offer small plates like shrimp churros and braised beef short rib ropa vieja spring rolls with rocoto sweet and sour sauce.
Also featured are a range of salads, including crispy calamari with banana, cashews, chayote and fresh hearts of palm; fire and ice shrimp with napa cabbage, cucumber, watermelon, sesame, crispy wontons; and king crab & Asian pear with toasted coriander vinaigrette, orange and ancho chili.
Handcrafted cocktails and non-alcoholic cleansers will also be on offer.
Each evening there will be live music with performances taking place on the mezzanine balcony overlooking the restaurant.
China Grill Management plans to open outposts of Asia de Cuba and some of its other brands in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Doha and Bahrain.
