Amateur chefs and curious foodies across the emirate can now brush up on their culinary skills and learn new techniques with the launch of the Chef’s Palette by Gaggenau cooking studio at Fairmont The Palm.
In a city obsessed by food, the new studio puts a unique spin on the dining experience, offering a collection of immersive, interactive sessions designed to be enjoyed in small groups with family and friends, for a special celebration, or as a corporate team-building activity.
The menu of master classes ranges from an introduction to basic culinary techniques through to seasonal menus and dinner party entertaining, with talented chefs from Fairmont The Palm’s kitchen team providing expert hands-on tuition supported by access to top-of-the-line German equipment and appliances.
“We’ve created a collection of classes that really do reflect the exciting mix of nationalities both living in and visiting Dubai. Eager culinary apprentices can try out signature recipes from across Arabia and Asia to South America, as well as road test their all-time favourites. We have also included an upscale option of gourmet dishes designed to impress, that feature exclusive ingredients like caviar, lobster and truffles,” said Jason Green, Executive Sous Chef.
A choice of two cooking classes is on offer, with bespoke packages available upon request. The two-hour Premium Cooking Class (AED 395 per person) includes hands-on cooking fun with a chef, branded apron, water and soft drinks, take-home recipe card and USB, and a certificate of attendance. The two-hour Master Class (AED 555 per person) focuses on specialist produce such as foie gras, Wagyu beef, forested mushrooms and chocolate, and includes all of the above benefits plus the chance to relax over a three-course lunch or dinner prepared by our chefs.
Kids even get their own ‘no adults allowed’ sessions with the studio a great destination for a birthday party with a difference, or as a means to safely introduce children to the kitchen environment, while making it fun. The kids cooking classes are priced from AED 250 per child.
The Christmas Baking and Decorating Premium Cooking Class will take place on 7 and 14 December 2015 (AED 395 per person); with the Perfect Christmas Lunch or Dinner Master Class to be held on 2, 9 and 16 December 2015 (AED 555 per person).
