Square, a new nightclub at Dubai’s JW Marriott Marquis, has opened its doors.
Offering a setting inspired by the ‘underground’ streets of London, the space mimics an abandoned subway station covered in graffiti and artwork by Banksy and MTO.
David King-Underwood, managing director, The KNG Group, commented: “Square responds to the gap in the market for a less commercial venue that fuses a more cool and unpretentious vibe.
“After years of working in Dubai’s high-end club scene, I wanted to introduce something different. A casual place for kick-backs where people can come and have fun, there’s no strict rules, you don’t have to dress or look a certain way – just be yourself.”
The club features a corrugated iron DJ booth, oil drums for tables, concrete walls, neon signs, sofas and a VIP cage.
The venue has various theme nights with Wednesday ‘Link Up’ playing Caribbean, dancehall and reggaetón, ‘Strictly Urban’ on a Thursday with hip-hop and RnB and ‘Juicy’ on a Friday playing old school hip hop, house, RnB and UK garage.
Square, located on the fifth floor of JW Marriott Marquis Dubai, is open from Wednesday – Friday 10pm-3am.
