Molecule, a bistronomy concept that combines high-end cuisine and design in a casual setting, has opened in Dubai Design District.
At the helm of the kitchen is chef Udo Moreau, whose experience includes L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon in London and Paris. The chef has created a sharing concept with a focus on seasonal products and regional flavours.
The venue has been developed with a range of artistic and design collaborations creating an authentic and locally-inspired space.
Molecule has partnered with Ansonia Concepts and jewelry artist and designer Nadine Kanso on the design concept.
Kanso selected a black and white photograph to cover the entire venue, and this is embellished with colourful collage elements. The concept is aimed at reflecting the growth of Dubai.
Nomad Inception, which specialises in architectural creations inspired by Arabesque art, executed the design vision of Ansonia Concepts, manufacturing Molecule’s ceilings, floors and walls.
Meanwhile, Lebanese architect, Fadi Sarieddine added her experimental design approach to the concept with the use of unconventional materials.
Boutique lighting design studio, Light Func, was brought on-board to install sensory lighting fixtures that set the mood for the venue, while The Third Line has been selected as the premier collaborator for curated art.
Design Ras Al Khor (DRAK), a UAE-based collective design initiative have joined forces to create a special edition of tableware accessories for the venue.
In terms of the music, Archittetura Sonora has provided the speakers and 21db, a group of acousticians, music producers, architects, and designers have been brought in to enhance the dining experience through sound.
In addition, Molecule Radio has been created to stream its own list of ‘essential listening’ online and in Molecule.
