Muddle ME has launched the new series of Acme & Co ceramic coffee cups in the UAE.
The cups are billed as ‘The Evolution’ and mark the first major design change to the Acme series since the company’s inception in 2011.
Jessica Godfrey, GM sales and marketing of Acme & Co, commented: “The Evolution series is a natural extension of Acme’s vision. We wanted to make traditional espresso cups more usable and we are doing that more strongly with these design changes. The concept was not to revolutionise an already brilliant design, but to make minor but vital changes to make the cups more distinctly Acme.”
Designed for third wave espresso standards, the Evolution Series offers precision measurements with an enhanced drinking experience.
The cups have the same footprint and hold the same volume, but now come with a smoother inner-gradient to make for an easier pour.
While the base is still thick for improved heat retention, the lip is finer and tapers more to make it easier to drink from.
The biggest change is to the handle, which has been redesigned to make it more comfortable to hold.
All innovations are thoroughly tested through customer feedback and daily use at Acme & Co’s café, where 1,200 cups of coffee are served each day.
Colour is an important part of the cup and Acme has named the new colours after the nature found in New Zealand, where the cups were invented.
The new colours include: Feijoa (green) after a fruit, Kōkako (blue) after a bird, Rata (red) for the flower, Weka, (brown), a flightless bird, Dolphin (grey), Penguin (black), and Milk (white).
“Innovation plays an integral part in driving the F&B industry, and at Muddle Me we believe that perfection is found in the small details; sometimes a small change can create wide ripples,” said Simon Chabowski, marketing partner of Muddle Me, which supplies the Acme & Co cups in the Middle East.
“As Acme’s excusive partner in the region, we are excited that the UAE becomes the first market to experience the Acme Evolution.”
