Spinneys Dubai has revealed the products that see a soar in sales during the Holy Month of Ramadan.
Sales of the Ramadan staple, hummus, increase by almost 20 tonnes from 6.5 tonnes per week to 25 tonnes during Ramadan. With the supermarket chain producing its hummus locally, they will be importing approximately three tonnes of chickpeas per week from Italy to meet consumer demands.
Watermelons sales has increased by approximately 300% with an estimated total of 100 tonnes of the hydrating fruit expected to be sold during the month.
To mark the Holy Month, Spinneys has also introduced a new range of limited edition products to its stores including the guaccumus (avocado hummus). The new flavour has proved to be popular resulting in the locally-owned supermarket chain importing around 6 tonnes of avocado during the month of Ramadan to produce the guaccumus.
Additionally, beetroot hummus, freekeh salad with labneh, chicken and cauliflower machboos and mutton or lamb maqluba are also now available at deli counters across Spinneys stores in the UAE.
